Daniel Bessa de Melo joined Cerejeira Namora, Marinho Falcão in 2020, where he works mainly in Civil expertise area, focusing his work on judicial and arbitral litigation.

He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Porto and also holds a Master's degree in Civil Law from the same institution. He successfully completed the  Postgraduate Course in Arbitration Law, organized by the Private Law Research Center, and an Intensive Arbitrators Course, held by the Portuguese Commercial Arbitration Center.

He has authored significant scientific articles published in leading Portuguese legal journals, in addition to being the author of three books published by Almedina: Sale of Commercial Enterprises, Almedina, Coimbra, 2024; Compensation for Loss of Use Damages: General Theory and Application in Case Law, Almedina, Coimbra, 2025; Abuse of Right in the Portuguese Civil Code, Almedina, Coimbra, 2026.

His scholarly work is frequently cited in various decisions laid down by Portugal’s top courts, including the Supreme Court of Justice.

Since 2024, he has been a member of the Lusophone Association of Arbitration and Mediation (ALAM), seated in Macau.
